Global deployments may requires to share vendor and customer data between legal entities. There is a newly introduced feature on Spring release of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to allow this feature.

Assuming that there is business requirement to have the same customer groups across two legal entities to reduce the data entry and maintenance. The legal entities are DEMF and USSI. Customer groups on each legal entity are as shown in the following screenshot:

To implement the customer group data sharing between the two companies, go to System administration| Setup| Configure cross-company data sharing. Create a new record, add Table (CustGroup) to identify tables and fields to share , on the right hand side identify companies which share the records in these tables, this is represented in the following screenshot:

The data shared should be Enabled.
